Infant Class 2009

I have been trying for days now to get a class picture…and I FINALLY did it today!! The kids have been in school since May, but with illness and nap times we haven’t been able to get everyone in the picture. As you can see to your left, Julian, is sleeping. It’s a miracle he fell asleep in the swing. Once I saw he was sleeping we hurried and got all the kids together. If you’re wondering why they look a little awe struck it’s because Lorena (teacher assistant & friend) is behind me making noise to get their attention. She did a FABULOUS job!! heehee. Anyhow, here are a few more pics…I just can’t get enough of these babies. They’re so freakin’ cute!!

Mom and Me at the Airport

Today, June 4th, is my Mom’s B-day. I miss her very much. She loved like no other I’ve ever known. I don’t know anyone (personally) that had as much faith as she did. She is and always will be my inspiration. I pray one day I will be  half the woman she was. I love you Mom! I miss you too much. Happy Birthday!

I’m still alive! Barely…

I’m posting this from work so it won’t be too long and I don’t have a pic to post. Anyhow, sorry I’ve been MIA with posts. I’ve been working a temp job helping out with the digital conversion. They’ve been offering tons of overtime so i havne’t had a life for about a week now. Anyhow…I’ll be back in full swing soon. I’m way behind on my pics, but I’ll catch up. PROMISE!

Tribute to my Mom…

Today marks the anniversary of my Mom’s death. So I wanted to dedicate this post to her. Mom, I LOVE YOU!!

This is a picture I took of my Mom while she was undergoing treatment for her brain tumor in Maryland. The area her tumor was in caused her to have aphasia which defined is the inability to use or understand language (spoken or written). On this day she had an appointment to meet with her speech therapist to chart her progress. At the previous appointment she was given homework assignments to help with the aphasia. To anyone without aphasia they were very simple worksheets…a child could answer the questions. However, because of the aphasia she had such a hard time answering the questions. What made it worse was that she knew they were easy questions to answer. Anyhow, she had been dragging her feet since the previous appointment because it litterally hurt her head to do her homework. Well, because we had her appointment that day I demanded she do her homework. So, I sat her down on the couch and I put a little table between us (I sat across from her in a chair) and I made her do her work. She complained the entire time. As she did her work I went and got my camera to take a picture. I threatened that if she didn’t smile I was going to keep taking pictures…which she really didn’t like. So amidst her grumbles she gave me the biggest smile I had seen in months. As I remember this moment it makes me laugh because she really was angry I took the picture. She said as I was getting ready to snap the picture, “hurry up” through gritted teeth. That exact moment was priceless. This picture has become my absolute favorite picture of my mother.
